Ultra Monkey should work on any Linux Setup that is capable of running a 2.4.x kernel. However, in order to provide a reference, a set of packages have been provided for the following distributions. It is hoped that these will enable Ultra Monkey to be installed more easily for those who are wish to use one of these distributions.
Contributions to Ultra Monkey are always more than welcome.
Version 2.0.1 is available for download source and binary debian packges, source and binary and source RPMs. All files are available from the download directory and mirrors. Please see the installation notes for details on installing Ultra Monkey using the Debian Packages or RPMs. For example network topologies and sample configuration files please see the topologies section.
Ultra Monkey 3 is the latest release of the popular load balancing software based on The Linux Virtual Server and Linux-HA projects. This release features the ability to synchronise connections between linux-directors, allowing connections to continue even if the active linux-director fails, better managment of ARP packets and no longer requires a custom kernel. In keeping with the RHSA-2005:043 [offsite] security advisory for for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 a new Ultra Monkey kernel is available. This is the updated 27.0.2.EL kernel from Red Hat with updated LVS and hidden interface patches for use with Ultra Monkey.
