High Availability

This topology provides a highly available service with minimal hardware requirements. Sample configurations are available for single virtual service and a network of virtual services.

Components

The two Real Servers monitor each other using Heartbeat and in the event of the active server failing the hot-standby assumes the virtual address and the service is maintained. The Real Servers may run a variety of services including The Apache HTTP Server.
