CVE-2006-3815
is a local exploitable denail of service resulting from
incorrect permissions on a shared memory region. It may be possible for
users with local access to machines running heartbeat to interfere with
heartbeat on that machine, and thus interrupt or comprimise the cluster.
Systems where untrusted users have shell access and the like to machines

The kernels supplied for Debian Woody make heavy use of modules
and initrd. This includes drivers for ide being built as modules.
Unfortunately the previous version of mkintrd
(initrd-tools-0.1.32woody.3.um.1) used a newer name for the
piix module than is used by the Ultra Monkey kernel for woody.
An updated initd-tools package resolves this problem.
Users who have expereinced trouble booting woody kernels

Updated kernel packages for are available for

This problem manifests when
fsuid is set, which is done using the privelaged sys_setfsuid() call.
This is typically only used by the Linux user-space NFS daemon,
which the call was added for.
This vulnerablility may be exploited by remote users to
change the owner of files on systems that run the
user-space NFS daemon and have a kernel that has not been patched.
Users who use the user-space NFS daemon are advised to upgrade.

These updated packages resolve a minor packaging problem in the previous
5woody.um.4 kernels. The problem is that there is a versioned dependancy
on modutils >= 2.4.19, which should be >= 2.4.15
as Woody has version 2.4.15. This only effects the following k6, k7 and
k7-smp kernel-image packages for Woody.
Users using these k6, k7 or k7-smp images are advised to upgrade. The
updated packages are available from the download

The kernels supplied for Debian Woody make heavy use of modules
and initrd. This includes drivers for ide being built as modules.
Unfortunately the mkinitrd (initrd-tools-0.1.32woody.3) that is supplied with Woody does
not make an initrd image that loads these ide modules. And thus
systems with IDE boot disks may experience problems booting into
the kernel's supplied for use with Ultra Monkey.
To resolve this problem an updated initrd-tools
(0.1.32woody.3.um.1) package has been supplied.
This has a back port of code from initrd-tools in Sid to allow
ide module aware initrd images to be built.
